VIKING MARKS FLOAT OUT OF NEWEST OCEAN SHIP

Viking® (www.viking.com) announced its newest ocean ship—the 998-guest Viking Vela®—was “floated out,” marking a major construction milestone and the first time the ship has touched water. Scheduled to debut in December 2024, the Viking Vela will spend her inaugural season sailing voyages in the Mediterranean and in Northern Europe.

Viking Returns to Antarctica for Third Season

Viking is celebrating the start of its third expedition season in Antarctica, as the Viking Octantis® and her identical sister ship, the Viking Polaris® have arrived again in the region. Both ships will spend the Austral summer in Antarctica, before returning to North America’s Great Lakes for voyages throughout the spring, summer and early autumn.

Royal Caribbean International has officially welcomed the Icon of the Seas, a groundbreaking cruise ship, to its fleet after seven years of planning and 900 days of design and construction. The ship’s delivery ceremony took place at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland, with more than 1,200 crew members and workers in attendance.
